Sometime ago when I was just a youth
I came into a knowledge of the truth
But by and by that knowledge slipped away
And now I know that I had gone astray.

While I was gone away in all my sin
I thought that I would have some peace within
But there was only misery to find
Although I tried with body, soul and mind.

I realized my trying was in vain
I looked up to the sky to ease my pain
And heard a voice "Return, I'll make you whole"
It was the Shepherd, Bishop of my soul.
